Edge Knoll Farm is surrounded by a multitude of options when it comes to Salmon and Trout fishing in the regions. Some are on our doorstep with our cottages providing an excellent hub to sample both a local and regional day’s angling.

Is about 4 km to the east downstream from Edge Knoll Farm and McNeil ponds are about .5 km to the north east. Swans, geese and cormorants patrol between the two virtually all day long in season. Bird watching tours which can include the Low Barns Reserve are organised by Wild North Discovery.

The Royal navy Museum at Hartlepool is based at the docks. the sailing ship Tricomalee a British warship from Napoleonic times is well worth a visit for those pirates among us. With educational exhibitions, live re-enactments, cannon firing, swashbuckling (whatever that means) cafe, gift shop and much much more.
